Mar Menor the (the small sea) is a salty lagoon in south east Murcia, Southern Spain.

An inlet of calm water separated from the mediterranean sea by La Manga (La Manga Strip) with it's 22km sandbar ranging in width by 100-1200m.

The Mar Menor is a specially protected area of mediterranean importance & a special protection area for bird life.
